Norwich houses two great shopping centres. Between them they offer over 150 shops plus restaurants and cafes. High street names and large department stores are well represented and the medieval alleys and winding back streets in the heart of the city from the Norwich Lanes, Upper st. The Maddermarket Theatre, The Arts Centre and the Puppet Theatre are also at the centre of Norwich Arts and entertainment. The Comedy Club rolls into the Forum once a month for a night of comedy and laughs whilst the Cinema City shows many genres of film, often with accompanying talks and discussions. World-class opera and other musical events are also shown live on their big screen.
